{Timeless Wonders} - Top 10 Photo

I entered into this photography contest at the last second, and I am so very glad that I did. This photo, that I took in the hot 'n' hazy days of Summer in June of this year which I've recently titled "You & Eye" made it into the Top 10 finalists of the Timeless Wonders Photography Contest put on and hosted by Rachel Kei and Miss Raquel.

So what are your thoughts on this eyeful of a photograph?

I'm curious to know just how many of you have Canon Rebel's? If you don't have a Canon Rebel then what kind of camera do you have?

Photo Challenge: "Your Favorite Shot"

{This is my entry for Carlotta's Photo Challenge}

This is my favorite photo for many reasons: The very cute little bi-ligual German boy (who just so happens to be my sweet little second cousin) in the photo himself of course, the blue ridge mountain ranges seen in the distance behind Mateo, and of course Mateo's miss matched shirt, hat and pink jeans that he is wearing just make this shot all the more interesting. We had so much fun hiking through the mountains and woods on this day...and my goodness I loved having such a cute little subject to photograph! =)

You should head on over to Carlotta's lovely blog, and while you're there check out her lovely photos as well as everyone else's favorite photos.

 {For whatever reason I couldn't get the button to work, so HERE is the link}

Here are some more photos of Mateo, and the scenery, that I took on our mountain hiking trip this past October:

{Yes, Mateo carried around a waffle in his hand the entire time we were up in the mountains...so cute!}

So what do you think of my favorite photo?

Merry Christmas Eve To You All!
Much love, Sarah

Horsefeathers: Wintery Art Contest

I've titled this particular photo:
"Beautifully Weathered Winter"
 Here is the Link To Olivia's contest below (I don't know why the button won't work!)

<center><a href="http://ofhorsefeathers.blogspot.com/2010/11/words-for-snow-art-contest.html"><img vspace="none" hspace="none" alt="HorseFeathers" src="http://i933.photobucket.com/albums/ad172/RobinBlogs/wordsforsnow.png" align="center" /></a></center>

I really am in love with this Wintery photo that I took in February of this year. In the last few months of last year and in the beginning of this year I have seen more snow fall than I ever have before in my mere short lifetime. As I trudged through the snowfall of the second month of 2010, camera in hand, I walked our 10 acres of land hoping to get a shot that encompassed what Winter was, felt like and looked like through my eyes, and I think I had found the shot I was dreaming about and had pictured all along! *photo seen above*

To me this photo embodies the cold dead bleak mid-winter look and feeling of Winter that is so under appreciated it seems, at least to me it seems as such, but this shot turns this glimpse  into Winter as something that is simply full of beauty and magic...that should be seen and had within the Winter season...and somehow intertwines the two together. Ah the beautiful magic of Winter!

 I absolutely love Olivia's blog  (Horsefeathers) and when I saw that she was having this lovely Words For Snow: A Wintery Art Contest I just knew that I had to enter in and participate. To enter into Olivia's contest, alongside myself, find the blog button on my sidebar and click on it. There is a pretty wonderful gift if you do so happen to win her contest too! Thanks for putting on this lovely contest, Olivia!

I think I am in love with this photo, and with Winter...
